Pancake Supper at Newell Christian Fellowship a Success
Monday, March 3rd, 2008
Thanks to all who participated at the pancake supper at the Newell Christian Fellowship. Servers and eaters turned out in good form to cook, eat and clean on Saturday, March 1st. The pancake flipper was kept hopping from 5:00 to 7:00 and the kids especially liked the ice cream and cookies. If you missed the occasion, you missed a great time of stuffing faces and catching up on the latest Newell news. The money raised will go to the general fund of the church.
Thanks again to all who participated!

Leadership In Newell
Wednesday, January 30th, 2008In response to the questions posed to us on Leadership….
I would say that Leadership Plenty has improved our leadeship greatly. I think people who didn’t think of themselves as leaders are now stepping up to the plate and our seeing that they truly are leaders. When given a task and having the support of others behind them; people are doing things they never thought they could/would do.
I also think that people who knew that they had leadership skills were equipped with better leadership tools and strategies from Leadership Plenty.
I think it also bonded people together and they found out that more people then just themselves have the same goal. It’s easier to work towards something when you have support and camaraderie. I think there is a better spirit of unity among those that attended. Although there were different opinions brought up and we don’t always think alike; people have put some differences aside to get some things accomplished.

Problem on Church page fixed!
Thursday, December 6th, 2007My apologies to the Catholic church’s - it was brought to my attention that neither of them had the same large print billing in the Church Directory that the other churches received. This (I’ve now learned) was due to the fact that when I’d pasted the info on the page a few lines of code were left out. Now that I’ve gotten a little more website savy I’ve figured out the problem and I’m happy to say that it’s now resolved. So all churches have the same large print heading! There was no disrespect intended, just a “learning how to - on the computer glitch”. Thanks for bearing with me!

Veteran’s Day
Monday, November 12th, 2007Armistice Day was officially changed to Veterans’ Day by an Act of Congres
s on May 24, 1954. That
year President Eisenhower called on all American citizens to observe the day by remembering the sacrifices of all those who fought so gallantly. The President referred to the change of name to Veterans’ Day to honor all of the servicemen and women who have fought and sacrificed during all America’s wars.
