Thursday, March 13th, 2008Pancake Supper at Newell Christian Fellowship a Success
Monday, March 3rd, 2008
Thanks to all who participated at the pancake supper at the Newell Christian Fellowship. Servers and eaters turned out in good form to cook, eat and clean on Saturday, March 1st. The pancake flipper was kept hopping from 5:00 to 7:00 and the kids especially liked the ice cream and cookies. If you missed the occasion, you missed a great time of stuffing faces and catching up on the latest Newell news. The money raised will go to the general fund of the church.
Thanks again to all who participated!

Category 3 Questions
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008More questions - I answered one, I’m hoping others will chime in too! We need your input and participation.
Category 3: Taking action on poverty
What kinds of concrete steps are being taken by your community to address poverty? I think one of the steps I’ve seen taken are the massive clean up efforts, helping those who either can’t physically or monetarily manage to get junk off their property has made a noticable change in the astetics in town. Cleaning up empty lots, then seeing other property owners follow suite and demolish old junk houses and in turn a nice new residence and family that either are building houses or move houses on to the cleaned up lot is nice to see. We’ve got a great little town, its nice to see folks unite to help out their neighbors.
How did your community make choices about the actions most likely to have an impact on poverty?
How are low income involved?
How does your plan for poverty reduction link with existing leaders, groups and organizations?
What other partnership will help your community carry out its poverty reduction plan?
