DC Trip

March 26th, 2010 by babe225

Day 2 of our wonderful senior trip : the most amazing part of our trip so far has been the Holocaust Museum.  We spent a very memorable hour and a half experiencing how life would have been during the Holocaust.

This morning, we also went to the White House and Air and Space Museum.  Tonight were the Memorials, which were extremely profound, also.  The weather was colder and raining this morning, but as the day went on it stopped raining and warmed up a bit.

Last Attempt

June 9th, 2009 by akeller

Due to lack of interest in planning and lack of volunteers to work, the Newell Community Club is considering dropping the centennial celebration in 2010 and only planning regular Labor Day events for that year.

As a last effort a meeting has been planned for June 29th at 6:00 p.m. at the NVN center. If no interest remains after this meeting there will be no Centennial Celebration in 2010. If you have questions or are interested in helping, please come and join us or call 456-2121.

Monica’s 1,000 point

March 14th, 2009 by colleenb

Monica hits 1000Monica Deighton reached the goal of her 1,000th point in the game against Pine Ridge last night. And even though our Lady Irrigators were behind when the final buzzer sounded, we sure were proud of them. It must just be something about those maroon jerseys. Maybe we need new ones. Anyway, the fans were excited and planned to celebrate Monica’s achievement as testified by the two photos. There is one of the student fans holding up the numbers 1000 and Monica’s sisters and friends grouped together to mark the occasion with t-shirts made especially for the event. Monica we are proud of you.

Here are a coupld of photos to enjoy. A couple of small fans in Joe and John Jackson and a shot of Monica hitting that magic 1000! Enjoy. More tomorrow.
